Yusuf Can Gökmen completed his BA degree in International Relations at Ege University, Izmir. He spent one semester at Freiburg University, Germany as an intern and one semester at University of Tartu, Estonia as an exchange student. He is pursuing his MA studies in International Relations at Ege University, Izmir. He was engaged in active politics as a deputy of Turkey’s main opposition party’s (CHP) youth wings between the years of 2009-2013 in Izmir and as a member of Foreign Affairs Commission in the headquarters of CHP. For two years, he served as the member of the executive committee at Youth Assembly of Izmir City Council. He has been working as a research assistant in International Relations Department, Ege University. His main fields of interests are party politics, political participation of young people, international politics, global justice and interpretive politics. His works have been published in both academic and non-academic journals. He is one of the collaborative of Youth Deal Cooperative which is an organisation that prioritises youth employment through a co-operative model and co-opinion, which is a policy-oriented youth solidarity network that mobilises influential youth NGOs, student councils and clubs, and academic institutes primarily in the MENA region to offer policy proposals addressing the problems of the youth from the perspective of the youth themselves. He has also engaged with music for a long time.
