Suzette Saint-Marc has been working for the Council of Europe since 1992 in various fields such as culture and communication, European Social Charter, external relations and political affairs. She was involved in projects on democratic institutions and e-governance and in the co-ordination of the CoE’s contributions to the UN World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and to other international fora. From 2005 to 2010 she contributed to the organisation of the six annual sessions of the CoE’s Forum for the Future of Democracy and has been involved in the co-ordination of the Network of Schools of Political Studies since 2010. Recently, she helped to set up the online Platform to Promote the Protection of Journalism and Safety of Journalists and in the organisation of series of debates on European identity and on democratic security in Europe. Suzette first graduated in Linguistic Studies from Paris VII and Paris X universities and holds Masters degrees in Sociology (Faculty of Social Sciences) and in European contemporary history (Institute of Higher European Studies) at Strasbourg University.
