As a trained philologist, Elina Pechonova started her professional career as a journalist and reporter, and since 2011 she is the editor of the magazine SVET. Thanks to her work within the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Missions to Russia in 2011 and 2012, Elina obtained experience in analysing political campaigns. In the context of co-ordinating the “World Competitiveness Ranking” for Russia, she collaborated with IMD (Switzerland) and the Moscow Business School. Elina is a member of the Russian Union of Journalists, researcher at the Strelka Institute – a global think-tank based in Moscow and an alumna of the Moscow School of Civic Education. Elina is currently studying sociology within a joint programme between the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Studies and the University of Manchester.
